Gumz Farms

GUMZ MISSON - Kevin and Amy and their staff strive to meet the needs of the ever changing and demanding horse industry.  Pride in their accomplishments and attention to detail makes this team one of the strongest reproduction facilities in the United States.

Amy GumzAmy has been involved with horses all her life and the name Gumz Farms has long been synonymous with champions. Amy has always been active in the show arena with multiple Congress and World Champion credits to her name.  Although her education is based in the business specialty, with a bachelor of science from Purdue University and a Masters in Business Administration from Ball State University, the horse business was an undeniable attraction.  With a special interest in the science of reproduction and breeding technology, Amy has managed multiple World and Congress champion stallions and serviced up to 1200 mares annually.  Specializing in stallion with behavior management problems, Gumz Farms has been highlighted in most major publications and achieved International recognition.  Gumz Farms became a Select Breeders Service accredited affiliate in 2000 till 2007. Select Breeders Service is the largest equine freezing, storage and distribution company in the World.  As an USDA approved facility, they offer International freezing quarantines for export quality frozen equine semen and embryos. Gumz Farms also manages some of the most successful mares in history.   Countless World, Congress and Honor Roll champions and producers resided in the Kentucky pastures and are active in a very successful embryo transfer program.

Our staff consist of some of the most dedicated and experienced professionals in the industry.  Our heavy staff to horse ratio yield exceptional care for the mares and foals.  Our stallions have full time grooms and managers to attend to their individual needs and strive to keep them in show ready condition, especially critical for those returning to the show pen after breeding season. Attention to detail is a priority at Gumz Farms with the end result being conception and foaling results well beyod the industry norm.

For 17 years, Gumz Farms has participated in an extensive internship program.  This program brings applicants worldwide to work the entire breeding season at our facility.  The interns learn technique and protocols often not taught in an educational setting.  Our interns are a huge help to us as it makes our staff to horse ratio even stronger with great results!  For a link to our internship application – click here.
